usually I stream them with my PS3, but when I need to burn them on a DVD, I always buy a spindle of 50 DVD's for 15 euro. So I would say cheapass noname DVD's. And they always play, of the 50 I burn maybe 5 won't play.

I use TDK DVDs, I've never had a problem with them, never a bad disc either. I recommend them.

Most of the time it's the burner you use. I buy whatever is on sale and don't have any problems at all.I have close to 3500 DVDs I have burnt and found most burners are good for 200-300 burns.Sometimes one will last longer, but not to often. When I start having trouble with the disc, it usually means its time to get a new burner.I rarely get more than 80 out of Sony, (I used 3 so far) about 150-200 from Toshiba,I use my old HP as a door stop but the best I have used so far is LG. I get at least 250 burns without any problems from each one I have tried.I will be getting my fourth one this fall. If anyone knows of one that will burn more I would be willing to try it. Just my opinion

I usually use Ritek, as I can get them. However, I've ben using some crappy no-name brand from a reject shop that a bloke at work gave me for fixing his computer, and haven't had a problem with nearly 90 of them so far. (Pioneer burner)
However, same pioneer burner will have a 50% fail rate with no-name cd's, but every other burner in the house is fine with them.
Years ago people used to shit-can Princo, but 95% of the princo's I have used, still work.
But to be safe, TDK and Verbatim would be good choices, and more readily available.
Don't know 1st hand, but the word on some other dvd forums I frequent, is the Verbatim Dual layers are the best for xbox and possibly Wii games. (I'll have to recheck the Wii info)

I also agree with what scruggs420 says about the burner used.

I have had excellent success using Sony -R printable DVDs that come in a 100pk spindle for around $35.00. I buy them at Costco, but I'm sure you can get the same deal somewhere else. I use an LG GSA-E40L which handles both -R and +R. I don't always print my DVDs, but it's nice to have the option.

I find that most of the name brands work well with no problem.
However, I think that a lot of people run into problems when they burn at a fast speed. I convert and burn all my DVD videos using ConvertXtoDVD. The program suggests burning at 4X for a trouble free DVD. I've used it for all of my Movies with no problem.
